Fine art print on paper by Western artist Minerva Teichert
"Covered Wagon Pioneers"
A westbound wagon train crosses a river in a steep canyon
Born in 1888, Minerva Teichert was the daughter of early settlers of the Mountain West, and carried the torch of heroic pioneers throughout her career. Her representations of wagon trains, handcarts and men on horseback were at once looking back on the adventures of the earlier generation while representing an idyllic view of the way many in the area still lived. Teichert saw the world change through the 20th century, but largely held fast to Old West themes in her practice.
